Parking is available downtown Ayr and in municipal lots (Gibson Street and Church Street). The Township will close Inglis Street from Northumberland Street to Willison Street from 3:00-7:00 p.m. to ensure pedestrian safety. Parking will be permitted on one side only on Thompson, Elliot, Colquhoun and Willison Streets and on one side of Cooper Street from Willison Street to Upton Court. (Temporary no parking signs will be placed during the day) Vehicles parked illegally will be ticketed or towed. The Township will establish barrier-free parking for those with an Accessible Parking Permit issued by the Ministry of Transportation. Traffic Control: There will be officers from Waterloo Regional Police Services assisting with traffic and crowd control before, during and after the event. Expect delays in the area due to the volume of traffic and please watch for pedestrians.
Food Bank Donations: Neighbours Helping Neighbours will be accepting voluntary donations of cash, gift cards and non-perishable food items to support those in need in North Dumfries this holiday season and throughout the year.
Other Information: The North Dumfries Community Health Centre will on site with hot chocolate to keep you warm. Los Rolling Tacos and Hitched Coffee will also be there serving up their goodies. Please note the viewing area for the Holiday Train is a grassy area adjacent to the train tracks. You can also view the train from Inglis Street and the sidewalk along Inglis Street. This area is very dark. If family members get lost or separated from one another, please make the fire truck your central meeting spot. It will be parked on Inglis Street within the viewing area. There will also be porta-potties onsite.
