After a 2-year hiatus, we are pleased to once again host a celebration on Canada Day in North Dumfries. While we gather to celebrate the values Canadians continuously aspire to, this is also a time to remember the past and commit to working for a brighter future for all. Let's celebrate peace, friendship, respect, community, family, and move forward together in a meaningful and respectful way.
Pre-fireworks show includes musical entertainment by local rock band Shy Harry. There will be a "Kids Zone" with a bouncy castle, free face painting and balloon animals. Face painting and balloon animals has been generously sponsored by Susie Hegan, RE/MAX Twin City Realty, Inc.
Crystal's Fries food truck and Hitched Coffee will be on site to take care of your snacking needs.
The fireworks will be set off from both baseball diamonds at dusk by the North Dumfries Fire Department.
Bring your lawnchairs and picnic blankets to Schmidt Park for this free community celebration! Best fireworks viewing areas will be the greenspace in Schmidt Park or the fields behind Cedar Creek Public School. We encourage those who live nearby to walk, as parking is limited at Schmidt Park and on nearby streets.
